  2009 4th of July Float                          TeenSpace              Board Member gets the 1st Hit!
 
TeenSpace provides a safe, diverse, nonjudgmental program and environment for teens to participate in progressive recreation, music and art, and receive social support, mentoring and educational encouragement.
TeenSpace values a community of youth and adults working together encouraging young people to eliminate all forms of discrimination. Through volunteer work and mentoring relationships, the teens are lead toward improvements in their perceptions of selfworth, relationships with parents, educators, and community in terms of intimacy, communication, and trust.

 

 

 

2009 Camping Trip to Newhalem - Reward for a Summer of hard work!

 

 

 

1st TeenSpace Car Bash earned these Teens a trip to Seattle

 Youth that are able to identify with social groups feel a sense of belonging in the community, this helps to prevent negative decisions from the start

 

 

*Given the need for young people to be personally and politically engaged, youth organizing is fundamentally good youth development, for the simple reason that it offers a multi-faceted, grassroots framework for young people to grapple with the issues affecting their lives and their communities. (Ginwright, 2003)
